Day 3

You have 15 minutes to take pictures.  With your camera, go around the school (be courteous to other classes in session!) and take 6-8 snapshots of a wall space that you wish to "recreate".  Don't worry if there are marks, or posters, or signs on the walls (This makes it more visually interesting!)  This may create a better image on your camera from natural lighting.

Next, create thumbnails sketches for the next 10 minutes.  Create four boxes in your sketchbook or on a piece of paper and design several ideas with your photos in mind.  Sketch out your main ideas or theme that will drive your project.  This may include different words you may want to find or a certain image you may create that will send a message that you care about.  Let your ideas flow without over thinking or being too precise with your marks.  This is NOT your final project, this is just brainstorming to make your final project more successful.

When you are finished with your thumbnail sketches, propose your ideas to your teacher and/or peers and discuss which would be the most effective.  You will be using these ideas for a jumpstart on tomorrow's class.

REMINDER: IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO ALREADY, BRING YOUR MAGAZINES AND NEWSPAPERS FOR CLASS!
You will be using these tomorrow.
