Time Line

Day One

-explore course website and learn about what you will
be doing over the next ten days.

-Check out Street Art View and a short video and answer a few questions by submitting your answer on this site.
-Look over the rubric on how you will be graded during this project under the evaluation tab above.
HOMEWORK: Bring in old newspapers and magazines for day 4.

Day Two

-explore stop animation videos and the websites linked under Day 2 to learn more about how text can influence image. Think a bit about what kind of work goes into creating a stop animation in a public place.
-start coming up with ideas for your project that you can share with your classmates and teacher.

HOMEWORK: Don't forget your old newspapers and magazines!

Day Three
-Explore the school, take pictures of empty spaces that you think would look most interesting with your "street art" on it.

-On paper, sketch out 3 thumbnail drawings (doesn't have to be perfect! just quick sketches!) of what you're picturing your final project and your focus point to look like. This includes a main idea or theme.

-Share your project idea with your teacher and start thinking of how you want your project to look.

HOMEWORK: Don't forget your old newspapers and magazines!

Day Four

-Upload and print your images on card stock in both black and white, and color.
-Continue to discuss your ideas.
-Start cutting and brainstorming images and text that will go into your final project.

Days Five through Nine

-Today you will begin your project. Using the card stock images of your black and white or color photo, start creating your own street art. Use the blank surface in the photo as your "canvas." Continue to cut and place (don't paste!!) your images and texts so that you are portraying the message that you wish to share with your peers. Create three collages of "street art" over the next four days.

-Once you are pleased and your message is clearly stated using image and text, paste your images to your final piece. Make sure your message is clearly displayed in a creative context.

-Use a minimum of ten images and two textual components are required. No more than ten images or four textual components. Feel free to mix and match letters and words to create your own sentences and messages.

Day 10
Class Critique
- Upload a high quality image of your artwork to Popplet for your peers to view.
-Comment on two or more of your peers' art works. Be sure to include three to five sentences of thoughtful feedback. Be respectful and use complete sentences. Talk about elements of design and how their piece is effective at portraying their message.
